In the photos above you see a young Jax, on October 9th, 2011 playing a show along side Patent Pending and quite a few others locals in Webster Hall’s studio. She’s always been talented, from when I first saw her perform as Jersey Kids with her band mates in 2009, or 2010. So young, and still incredibly talented. Since then she’s become an even better performer, an inspiration to many world wide, and the 3rd place winner of American Idol. Jax, we know you know in the eyes of your family, friends, long time fans, and new members of the JaxPack. You’re #1 in our eyes. Our very our homegrown and humble American Idol. Keep it up Jax, you’ll do big things. Hope to see you soon.

If you haven’t seen Set It Off’s newest music video yet, you NEED to watch it above. The song is a bit different
as opposed to their usual sound but still just as good. The concept of the music video is one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a while.
Be sure to catch them on their last leg of tour, dates listed below

A look back to 2014… On November 24th I went to the Pierce the Veil and Sleeping with Sirens, The World Tour. The openers for this show included Beartooth and This Wild Life. Both of those bands are extremely talented. Pierce the Veil and Sleeping with Sirens blew me away. I had never seen either of those bands live before and they sounded perfect. Pierce the Veil started the show and sang hits such as Bulletproof Love, Im Low on Gas and You Need a Jacket, and of course King for a Day featuring Kellin Quinn of Sleeping with Sirens. King for a Day was the last song on the Pierce the Veil set allowing for a perfect lead into the Sleeping with Sirens set. Sleeping with Sirens opened with a new track, Kick Me. They sang other songs such as Roger Rabbit, If you Can’t Hang, and Do it Now Remember it Later. All in all the show was fantastic. I even managed to get some fairly decent photos with the point and shoot I brought to the show. The energy from the audience made the show that much better. If you ever get the chance to see any of those bands live I highly recommend you do so.

The Between The Roses Tour hit Brooklyn NY on 11/4/14. The concert as a whole was amazing. The acoustic performances by Rookie Of The Year, Jason Lancaster, Summit, Joel Faviere and SayWeCanFly blew my mind. Their voices were amazing. They hit difficult notes with ease. It was a simple show but the talent was the main focus and that is what made the entire show unforgettable. This is all now performed a set. Even though they weren’t acoustic they still fit the theme of the night. They were very energetic and really brought the entire audiences eyes to them. All of the performers walked around during the show and I met all except Jason and two members from This Is All Now. There was a familiar face among the crowd. Matt formerly in Kingsfoil was there and was nice enough to take a picture with me. I highly suggest checking out all of these talented bands and individuals.

On August 8th, 2014 many different groups of people and music came together at Irving Plaza. This show was very unique because all four groups were different genres of music with different fan bases. The crowd was split into four invisible sections and after each performance the crowd became one fan base for all four groups.
The first group to perform was Patent Pending. An American pop punk band from Mount Sinai, Long Island New York. They formed in 2001 and are still going strong.During the show they played (Hey Mario, Douchebag, Brighter and more). They have been on many tours, even in the United Kingdom and Germany. They will be returning to these places starting in October. Over the years the band has released nine albums. The songs in these albums are very catchy and funny but others are sometimes serious. The serious songs have important messages and many people of their fan base say “these guys saved my life”. The second performance was by Tiffany Houghton. She is a recording artist who lit up the room when she sang. While having a country- like voice her music is a mix of pop and country. On August 13th, 2013 she released her debut single on iTunes. She started writing at a young age went to Booker T Washington Arts high school in Dallas, Texas. Since then she has opened for many national recording artists like Joe Nichols and Jake Miller. During her performance the crowd went wild and she knew how to keep them interested. Her song Band Boy had everyone singing along far after the song was over. The third performer this night was Action Item. A band from Bergen county New Jersey. They formed in 2007 and are still a band today. The band started as a five-piece but are now down to four due to creative differences. But don’t worry everyone’s still friends. When they performed you could hear everyone in the crowd singing along. These guys knew how to get the crowd going. The band has four albums and many debut singles. Their music genre is always mistaken for just pop but they are a pop/punk group. The headliners of the show was MKTO. Formed between 2010 and 2012 the name mkto comes from their initials (mk) Malcolm Kelly (to) Tony Oller. They also have stated the letters stand for Misfit Kids and Total Outcasts. They are an American music duo mostly consisting of pop sometimes hip hop and r&b. Their debut single ‘thank you’ was released January 2013. There follow up single ‘classic’ was released June 2013. There self-titled debut album was released January 30th, 2014. They were the last to perform they came back to the stage after being called for an encore by the fans. At the show each performance was incredible. The crowd loved all four groups so much that after the show was over many fans stayed to meet them. The groups were so delighted to say hi and take pictures with their fans even meeting new fans for the first time.

On August 6th, 2014 Christine Trimarco and I had the privilege of being part of the 4,000 fans to go to Planet Hollywood to meet Jake Miller.
Jake Miller is an American rapper and singer from Weston, Florida. He is signed to Warner Bros.Records. On November 5th, 2013 he released his debut album called Us Against Them, which later became a national concert tour. There are fun catchy songs (Collide, My Couch) that would bring the audience in and show them how Jake is a good artist. But once they start to like him and search him they find how great an artist he really is. They would find catchy but more serious songs like (A Million Lives, Like Me, Steven, and First Flight Home) these songs show a different side of Jake. This side deals with many emotions towards his life and his fan’s lives. He tells stories his fans can relate to and shows how he sometimes needs reassurance and advice. Topics of the more serious songs are (sickness, bullying, fears, death, being homesick, and suicide.) Jake expresses his feelings through his music. This has helped many of his fans get through many different situations.
That day in Manhattan at Planet Hollywood was a dream come true for most if not all 4,000 people there. Girls and boys of all ages waited 5 or more hours just to spend about a minute with him each. He made sure he met all 4,000 fans. He is not only devoted to his music but he is devoted to his fans.

Hey y’all!
Only one word comes to mind when I think about Monumentour: incredible. I had the privilege of seeing New Politics, Paramore and Fall Out Boy on July 18th at Merriweather Post Pavillion in Columbia, Maryland. The three bands have been playing arenas and will continue to play all summer. A tour with Paramore and Fall Out Boy has been long awaited in the music world and the groups did not disappoint.
New Politics, a band originally from Denmark, has been playing what they consider to be punk and alternative rock music since 2009. Although the three piece group knows what it feels like to headline shows and play festivals, lead singer David Boyd told the crowd they still feel so privileged to be opening for Fall Out Boy and Paramore. Fun fact: Pete Wentz recently signed New Politics to his record label Decaydance, along with Lolo.
The group opened with “Give Me Hope”, followed by”Berlin”, “Fall Into These Arms”, “Just Like Me” and “Tonight You’re Perfect”. Boyd sang “Fall Into These Arms” while standing on the crowd, and the transition between “Fall Into These Arms’ and “Just Like Me” featured his insane break-dancing and signature headstand. About halfway through “Tonight You’re Perfect”, the band began playing a cover of Panic! At the Disco’s Miss Jackson, featuring Lolo. At this point, a majority of the crowd was on its feet, full of energy and ready to sing along with the band’s hit single “Harlem”. Their sent went off without a hitch, featuring many jokes, one regarding the fact that the band’s current drummer, Louis Vecchio, is the only American in the band. New Politics closed their set with a song called “Yeah Yeah Yeah” off their first album.
Paramore’s set started with “Still Into You”, which is one of their biggest songs, hitting #24 on Billboard’s top 100. Out of ten songs that have been on Billboard’s top 100, only one song has hit number one. The band is currently comprised of Haley Williams, Jeremy Davis and Taylor York, and the touring addition of Aaron Gillespie, Justin York and Jon Howard. The band started making music in 2004, when they put out their first album All We Know is Falling through Atlantic records. This tour has been recognized as a comeback tour because the band has been through so much, including the loss of two lead members in 2011. Haley’s neon outfit and strong stage persona alongside York’s high energy guitar riffs carried the band through “That’s What You Get,” “For a Pessimist, I’m Pretty Optimistic,” “Ignorance,” and a slower paced, less optimistic “Decode.” The band slowed it down to play “The Only Exception” complete with cell phone lights shining all around the pavillion and “Last Hope,” to speed things up again with “Brick by Boring Brick,” “Misery Business” followed by the very drum heavy “Let the Flames Begin” and “Part ll.” Paramore closed their set with “Proof” and only #1 Billboard hit, “Ain’t it Fun.” Hopefully Jeremy Davis’s hernia feels much better soon!
Fall Out boy went on stage at 9:30, and even though it was late, no one was tired quite yet. This is the second time I have seen Fall Out Boy since they came off of their 3 year hiatus in February of 2013. They began their set with the 1st song off their latest album Save Rock and Roll called “The Phoenix,” followed by some older songs, “The Take Over, the Break’s Over,” “A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More Touch Me” and “This Ain’t a Scene, it’s an Arms Race.” Bassist Pete Wentz’s stage banter led us into Alone Together, Death Valley and the certified triple platinum song “Sugar, We’re Going Down.”
The band went on to play “Miss Missing You,” a fan favorite “Young Volcanoes” and an old but still extremely popular “Dance, Dance.” Then they played “Just One Yesterday” and my favorite song off of their first album Take This to Your Grave, “Grand Theft Autumn,” continuing on with a cover of “We Are the Champions.” The show was equipped with pyrotechnics and Wentz and guitarist Joe Trohman played a part of the set in the middle of the arena, between the lawn seats and the pavilion seats. The show must go on and it of course did, with a killer rendition of “Save Rock and Roll,” followed by the oh-so-sassy “I Don’t Care” and closing their set with “My Songs Know What You Did in The Dark.” The band came back on for their encore to play their high energy “Thanks fr th Mmrs” and the same song they always close with, which is an absolute classic, “Saturday”! My personal favorite part of the show was when Pete was throwing beach balls at Andy for a good couple of minutes while he was trying to drum. They are such a great live band and I hope that some of you have had the chance to see them live!

Thursday, July 17th Queen & Adam Lambert performed at Madison Square Garden. This is was another show apart of their North American Tour. Amazing effects including lights, fog machines and many props left the packed arena cheering for more. Starting with a dropped curtain and the silhouette of Adam Lambert the show only went up from there. Original members Brian May and Roger Taylor made sure the crowd didn’t forget how Freddie Mercury and the rest of the band became rock gods. Using the oval screen placed behind the stage they included Freddie Mercury heavily into the show including backstage clips from their life on the road when they first started out and a tribute to the late Mercury. It was clear Adam Lambert wasn’t trying to be Freddie Mercury but he put his own twist on the vocals of the classic songs. During Bohemian Rhapsody once again showed Freddie this time he was singing the song and Adam Lambert sang with them. During the show Brian May shed some tears when doing a solo he would have normally done with Freddie. He encouraged the audience to sing along and the whole arena was in awe. While Adam was backstage doing one of many costume changes Brian and Roger brought out the people of the band who helped to make the show what it was including Rogers son. They did an acoustic song which proved to be one of the highlights of the night. Roger and his son also participated in a drum battle which showed both of their amazing talents. Roger also sang which proved he was more than just an amazing drummer. Adam Lambert’s performance was fantastic. The notes he hit gave me chills, so did his charming personality. He made sure he talked to the crowd and connected to them. His use of props also was a great choice. During Killer Queen he had his own couch where he laid and drank champagne, which he later shared with the audience. His costumes were exciting too they ranged from a simple vest, t-shirt and jeans to a leopard suit with a crown fit for a king. The show closed with an encore of We Are The Champions, We Will Rock You and tons of confetti and fog.
