There was not a dry eye in sight as Yellowcard played for one of the last times ever. The night of November 22nd was definitely one for the books for many Orlando concert goers. The band put on an amazing set including many of the good oldies and many of the new songs off their final album. The energy of both the band and the crowd were absolutely incredible. You could tell everyone was there to make the most out of their last time seeing Yellowcard perform. The best moment was when the whole crowd sang Ocean Avenue at the top of their lungs for one final time. This show is definitely one I will remember for a long time. Farewell Yellowcard, the fans will miss you.

On October 5, 2016 I attended the Unbreakable Tour. I was excited to photograph a tour with a genre of music out of my comfort zone. The openers of the tour, Counterparts were already on stage when I arrived. It was during the third song, as all my fellow photographers friends know it’s the last song we can photograph. I’m glad I was able to get a few photos of Counterparts. The next band up to the stage was one of my favorite heavier acts We Came As Romans. Their performance is always jam-packed with energy. In my opinion the perfect act to go on right before the headlining act of this tour. We would then finish of the night with national touring act, and headliners of the show, Parkway Drive. Hailing from Byron Bay, Australia Parkway Drive has quite the fan base in the United States. When they took the stage I could feel the instruments in my chest, the crowd was so into the set you could feel the room shake. All in all I enjoyed photographing a line-up out of my comfort zone.

I had the amazing opportunity to interview Jeremy from Shatterproof and this is what he had to say.
1. Where did you guys get the name shatterproof and what does it mean?
The name Shatterproof started as just a cool sounding name that we came up with randomly but it has grown to hold a much deeper meaning. To be shatterproof is to be unbreakable which can be applied to everyone’s life since we all experience our own struggles through life. It is the thought that when you get knocked down, you get right back up.
2. Which song means the most to you and why?
We love all of our songs but “Cookie Cutter Life” is an anthem that we all stand behind the chorus lyrics “Scream with me if you’re lost, at least you know that you’re not lost alone” is a powerful message that we are all are trying to figure out our path and it can be hard to know how to guide your future but it’s okay to be lost because you are not alone, and you will find your purpose in life.
3. How would you describe your sound to new fans?
Our sound ranges a wide variety from softer to heavier alternative rock featuring violin as a very prominent instrument. Our sound can be thought of as experimental because we pull Influence from a number of genres.
4. What are your preshow rituals?
Our preshow rituals include stretching, vocal warmups and we huddle and say a prayer before we take the stage
5. How many times a week do you practice?
We currently practice 4 days during the week and usually play shows on the weekends if we are not on tour
6. Where can people find you on social media?
People can find us on every platform of social media but our main 3 are Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
Instagram: shatterproofofficial
Twitter: shatterproof_fc
Facebook: facebook.com/weareshatterproof
We also have a website with an online merch store www.weareshatterproof.com
7. Are there any big things coming soon from Shatterproof?
We are constantly working on new and exciting things. We do not have any release dates or information available yet but we are planning on touring a good amount of 2017.
Now to the silly and fun questions
8. Batman or superman?
Superman
9. What was the last picture you took with your phone?
The last picture I took with my phone was the castle at Disneyland. (I was visiting California for Thanksgiving break)
10. What is your perfect pizza?
The perfect pizza is any pizza because pizza is pizza. Of course no anchovies though haha
11. What’s your favorite Christmas movie?
Elf
12. If you woke up in the body of someone else who would it be and what would you do?
Superman so I could fly around the world
13. What question do you hate to answer?
Least favorite question to answer is “favorite song?” Because it changes constantly.
14. If you had a brainwashing machine who would you use it on?
I would brainwash my old music teacher so they would be surprised by my progress. I think the reaction would be priceless.
Hope you all enjoyed my interview with Jeremy. Interview by Rachael Cox
