6-28-19 – Chase Atlantic Debuts Phases To A Sold Out Crowd In Los Angeles
Venue: The Regent on 6/28/19
I had heard of Chase Atlantic from their time on Warped Tour, but for the first time, I went into a show completely blind and walked out amazed. For their sophomore album, Chase Atlantic set out on a North American tour in support of their album “Phases”, which was released via BMG Records. In fact, the Los Angeles date just so happened to fall on the date of the album’s release. Chase Atlantic brought Lauren Sanderson along with them, which meshed perfectly with the band’s vibe and sound. This was an amazing tour all around.
Up first was Lauren Sanderson from Fort Wayne, Indiana. The best way I could describe Lauren’s sound is a perfect fusion between Alternative, R&B, and rap. Lauren was very high energy from the start, taking the large stage by the horns. I was personally captivated by Lauren’s messages of positivity towards the LGBTQ+ community, and how humble and kind she came across. Lauren played a 7-song set, which came from two of her EPs “Don’t Panic!” and “Spaces.” I was thoroughly impressed by Lauren Sanderson and cannot wait to see her again next time she’s out here!

Finally to the stage came Chase Atlantic from Australia. Chase Atlantic is a fusion of Alternative Pop, Pop Rock, Indie Pop, and R&B. They brought a massive light set up with them and two LED screens as well, making their show a full on experience and spectacle. This five-piece consists of vocalist Mitchel Cave, rhythm guitarist Christian Anthony, lead guitarist and saxophone player Clinton Cave, bassist Patrick Wilde, and drummer Jesse Boyle. Along with their massive lighting set up, Chase Atlantic prepared a 14-song set that showcased songs from the band’s whole discography. I am always impressed when a band brings in songs from every release. They had high energy from the jump, opening with “ANGELS” from Phases. This song showcased Clinton’s amazing saxophone playing. Each song they played showed how wide their repertoire truly is. I was in awe and will definitely be seeing them next time they’re out here
